Algebra Unplugged by
Kenn Amdahl & Jim Loats. One of our customers special ordered
this book for her teenager and reported back to us that it really helped her daughter
begin to understand algebra. Written with the idea that many people who learn best by
reading and understanding concepts are often confused by traditional "exercise-intensive
books," this book focuses attention on the concepts.
This is an excellent
book for anyone intimidated by algebraic formulas but who likes to read.
Plain talk and realistic examples help the concepts make sense. After
reading this book, when you go on to
practice algebra by doing exercises (found perhaps in the Jacobs
Algebra book), you'll find those exercises will now make more sense.
Paper, 258
pages.
